African Knockout (AKO), Africa’s premier mixed martial arts promotion founded by Nigeria’s own UFC world champion, Kamaru Usman, has secured a strategic broadcast partnership with leading sports network, SuperSport, to boost the sport’s visibility and growth across the continent.

The deal positions SuperSport as the exclusive linear broadcaster of AKO events across Sub-Saharan Africa, promising fans a richer viewing experience with live fight nights, compelling features, and episodic storytelling centred on the promotion’s elite fighters from over 21 African countries.

In a statement made available to PUNCH Sports Extra on Saturday, Usman said, “This partnership isn’t just about building a platform, it’s about unlocking the full potential of African MMA.

SuperSport CEO, Rendani Ramovha, hailed the deal, saying it aligns with the network’s mission to deliver world-class sports content and empower African talent.

AKO Partnerships Director, Jeremy Bean, described the agreement as “a defining moment for Pan-African MMA,” adding that SuperSport’s backing will help scale the sport commercially and globally.
