Tinubu Returns to Abuja After Eid Break in Lagos

President Bola Tinubu has returned to Abuja following the Eid-el-Fitr celebrations spent in Lagos, bringing to a close a trip that combined religious observance with high-level political engagements.

The president departed Lagos on Wednesday, heading back to the nation’s capital after marking the Sallah holiday, according to a report by the News Agency of Nigeria.

Tinubu had earlier travelled to Lagos from the United Kingdom, where he concluded an official visit before participating in Eid prayers at the Dodan Barracks.

During his stay, the president held a series of meetings with key stakeholders, including governors, business leaders and political figures. Notably, he received 23 governors, Africa’s richest man Aliko Dangote, and members of the Lagos State Governance Advisory Council.

Vice President Kashim Shettima was also in Lagos, where he briefed the president on recent developments in Borno State following a suicide bombing incident.

Tinubu’s departure from Lagos was witnessed by top government officials and political allies, including Lagos State Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu and other dignitaries.

He is expected to resume official duties at the Presidential Villa in Abuja, with attention turning to upcoming political activities, including preparations within the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) ahead of the 2027 elections.
