I Regret ‘Fighting’ Trump – Elon Musk

Elon Musk says some of his social media posts about US President Donald Trump went too far.
Musk and Trump traded insults last week — just days after the Tesla CEO left his role at the White House.
Musk had faulted the president’s “Big Beautiful Bill”, arguing that it would roll back much of what his department of government efficiency (DOGE) had achieved.
In a series of posts on X as their feud escalated, the ex-DOGE head backed calls for Trump’s impeachment and labelled the president ungrateful after helping him win the election.
He also accused the US president of being in the Jeffrey Epstein files, warning that his tariffs could cause a recession.
Most of the posts have now been deleted.
Reacting, Trump said he had no desire to restore his relationship with the businessman.
Trump said Musk was disrespectful to the office of the president.
The violent Los Angeles immigration raid protests seemingly nudged the tech billionaire back to his ally.
This week, the X CEO subtly resumed his praises for the Trump administration.
Musk, who has voiced support for closed borders and deportations, added American flags to a post from Vice President JD Vance about how the “president will not tolerate rioting and violence”.
He also posted a screenshot of a Truth Social post from Trump that asked the California governor and city mayor to “apologize to the people of Los Angeles”.
In an interview, Vance said he hopes Musk “figures it out and comes back”.
“The President is a little frustrated but he’s actually been restrained because he doesn’t want to be in some blood feud with Elon Musk. I think if Elon chills out a little bit everything will be fine,” the vice president added.
Musk replied “cool”.
“I regret some of my posts about President @realDonaldTrump last week. They went too far,” Musk later tweeted Wednesday morning.
Asked on Tuesday if he had any plans to speak to Musk, Trump said “I haven’t really thought about it actually. I would imagine he wants to speak to me. I would think so, if I were him I’d want to speak to me”.
“And maybe he already called… ask him whether or not he’s already called,” the president said.
Trump added that he would not have a problem should Musk call.
