Buhari’s Burial Postponed

Former President Muhammadu Buhari’s burial has been postponed to Tuesday at his hometown in Daura, Katsina state.
Born on December 17, 1942, Buhari died on Sunday at a clinic in London, United Kingdom.
The body of the former president was initially scheduled to arrive in Nigeria on Monday.
But addressing journalists, Dikko Radda, the governor of Katsina state, said Buhari’s remains will arrive Nigeria by 12 pm on Tuesday and the burial will take place two hours later.
The Katsina governor said the burial decision was taken following consultations with families and other concerned personalities.
“I wish to announce the burial arrangement for our father, the late president Muhammadu Buhari, who passed on yesterday in a hospital in London,” the Katsina governor said.
“We have made consultations with the family and people around in London, and we concluded that the body will arrive in Katsina tomorrow by 12 noon, and the burial is going to take place in Daura at about 2 pm. These are the arrangements in place.
“On behalf of myself, the people and government of Katsina state will condole the family, and the people of Nigeria, especially His Excellency, the President and Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Nigeria, Bola Ahmed Tinubu, over the demise of his predecessor.”
