Wahala! Police Arrest, Detain Portable
Habeeb Okikiola Badmus popularly known as portable, has been arrested by operatives of the Kwara State Police Command.
His arrest follows a petition filed by veteran fuji musician, Okunola Saheed, popularly called Osupa.
The development has worsened the feud between the two popular entertainers.
According to a statement released by the command’s spokesperson, Adetoun Ejire-Adeyemi (SP), Osupa in the petition accused Portable of several serious offences including criminal defamation, threats to life, incitement, character assassination, conduct likely to cause a breach of public peace, as well as the use of abusive and offensive language.
‘’In view of the weight of these allegations and the supporting evidence presented, the command secured a valid arrest warrant from a Magistrate Court sitting in Ilorin. Acting on this warrant, operatives from the command proceeded to Abeokuta, Ogun State, on Sunday, 13th April 2025, where the suspect was apprehended at about 19:25hrs. He was immediately brought to Ilorin for further investigations.
“Upon his arrival, the suspect’s statement was taken in the presence of legal representatives from both parties,” the statement read.
Ejire-Adeyemi said Portable will remain in custody while swift arrangements are underway to formally charge him in court.
Recall that the duo have had issues over alleged copyright infringement.
The saga led to Portable publicly insulting him in a viral video.
The Zazu Zeh crooner had called the 55-year-old singer unflattering names, sparking outrage online.
“Money matter caused the fight,” Portable explained, adding, “I was offended because I wanted to collect my money, and I heard they wanted to remove the music.”
Following heavy backlash, Portable latter apologized to Osupa in a video he shared, pleading, “King Saheed Osupa, my daddy, don’t be angry. Take me like a child to train.”
While showing remorse, he also claimed their dispute was just a promotion, saying, “We are both promoting each other… please give me shows.”
However, the controversial Ogun State born artist recanted on the apology when Saheed allegedly insisted that his action to apologize did not change anything about the situation.
