Terror In Minna, Niger State As Bandits Order Estate Residents to Flee or Face Death

Suspected bandits, believed to be illegal miners, have threatened the lives of residents in M.I Wushishi Estate, Minna, Niger State, ordering them to vacate their homes or face deadly consequences.

The attackers, who invaded the estate in broad daylight, shattered windows and vandalized several cars while most male residents were away at work.

A resident, speaking under anonymity, revealed that the assault occurred shortly after residents reported the miners’ destructive activities to the police.

The attackers, who had previously warned of retaliation, struck when the estate was most vulnerable, forcing many to flee their homes.

“These hoodlums, who we suspect are miners, came for us as they promised. Many high-ranking civil servants, including directors and permanent secretaries, live here, but no one is safe anymore,” the resident lamented.

The Niger State Police Command confirmed the incident, stating that peace has since been restored, though one person was killed during the attack. Police patrols have been deployed to prevent further violence, and an investigation is ongoing to apprehend the culprits.
