New Nigerian Passport Fees Announced—Here’s What You’ll Pay Starting Sept 1st!

The Federal Government has approved a significant increase in the fees for the Nigerian Passport, effective September 1, 2024. This change was announced by the spokesman for the Nigeria Immigration Service (NIS), Kenneth Udo, on the NIS’s official X handle.
The fee adjustment is intended to “maintain the quality and integrity of the Nigerian Standard Passport,” according to the official statement.
The revised fees are as follows: a 32-page Passport booklet with a 5-year validity will now cost Fifty Thousand Naira (N50,000.00), up from Thirty-five Thousand Naira (N35,000.00). Similarly, a 64-page Passport booklet with a 10-year validity will be priced at One Hundred Thousand Naira (N100,000.00), previously Seventy Thousand Naira (N70,000.00).
The NIS expressed regret for any inconvenience caused by the increase and reassured Nigerians of its commitment to transparency and quality service delivery.
