39-Year Old Telegram CEO, Pavel Durov Reveals He’s Fathered Over 100 Children Through Sperm Donation
Pavel Durov, the 39-year-old founder and CEO of Telegram Messenger, recently disclosed that he has fathered over 100 biological children worldwide, despite never being married. Durov shared this surprising revelation on his popular Telegram channel on Monday evening.
Fifteen years ago, a friend approached Durov with an unusual request, asking him to donate sperm due to fertility issues. Initially amused, Durov ultimately agreed, leading to the birth of a child for his friend’s family. The clinic, citing a shortage of “high-quality donor material,” encouraged Durov to donate more, which he did, resulting in over 100 children born to families in 12 countries.
Durov expressed pride in his contributions, stating that he plans to open-source his DNA to make it easier for his biological children to find him, despite acknowledging the potential risks. He also encouraged healthy men to consider sperm donation to help families struggling with infertility.
Pavel Durov, a Russian-born Emirati entrepreneur, was named the richest expat in the United Arab Emirates in 2022 by Forbes and the most powerful entrepreneur in Dubai by Arabian Business in February 2023.
