House Leadership Visits Dangote Refinery on Familiarization Tour
The leadership of the House of Representatives, led by Speaker Abbas Tajudeen, visited the Dangote refinery and Petrochemicals Company in Lagos on Saturday.
According to a press release signed by Musa Abdullahi Krishi, Special Adviser on Media and Publicity to the Speaker, “The purpose of this visit is to provide the House Leadership and the relevant oil and gas committees with an in-depth understanding of the nature, scope, and activities of the Dangote Refinery.”
“The visit was part of the House leadership’s efforts to understand and support key industries in the economy,” Speaker Abbas explained. “This initiative aligns with our legislative agenda, which aims to support the President’s Renewed Hope agenda, focusing on economic transformation, growth, and development.
“We remain dedicated to fostering an environment conducive to economic growth and development, ensuring that our legislative actions align with the broader goals of national progress as articulated by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu,” Speaker Abbas assured.
The Speaker acknowledged the challenges facing the private sector in Nigeria, including regulatory hurdles, infrastructure deficits, and access to finance.
“We are committed to addressing these issues and improving the ease of doing business in our country,” he said.
The Speaker urged Dangote Group to maintain an open line of communication with the National Assembly and the House leadership to address operational challenges and foster economic growth.
“Constructive dialogue will ensure that we can address any operational challenges swiftly and foster an environment conducive to optimal economic growth,” he said.
The visit was attended by the Deputy Speaker, House Leader, Chief Whip, Deputy House Leader, Deputy Whip, Minority Leader, Minority Whip, and Chairmen of relevant oil and gas committees, among others.
