Tinubu to Address African Union on Regional Integration in Accra

On Saturday, July 20, President Bola Tinubu will leave Abuja for Accra, Ghana, to attend the Sixth Mid-Year Coordination Meeting of the African Union (AU), the Regional Economic Communities (RECs), the Regional Mechanisms (RMs), and the AU Member States.
As Chairman of the ECOWAS Authority of Heads of State and Government, he will address the meeting on regional integration in Africa, focusing on West Africa’s achievements and challenges since the last meeting in July 2023.
Presidential spokesman Chief Ajuri Ngelale stated that Tinubu will present the “2024 Report on the State of the Community,” covering peace, security, governance, economic integration, and more.
The meeting will follow the AU’s 2024 theme, “Educate and Skill Africa for the 21st Century,” and will include discussions on early warning and conflict prevention mechanisms.
A declaration will be adopted at the meeting’s conclusion.
Tinubu will return with senior government officials after the meeting.
