BREAKING: Court Orders Shaibu To Resume Office As Edo State Deputy Governor
Justice James Omotosho of the Federal High Court in Abuja voided the impeachment of Phillip Shaibu as Deputy Governor of Edo State. The court found that the Edo State House of Assembly did not follow due process in the impeachment proceedings.
Justice Omotosho ordered Shaibu’s reinstatement and set aside the appointment of his replacement. The court deemed the allegations against Shaibu insufficient to justify his impeachment.
The judge also directed the Inspector General of Police to provide security for Shaibu to resume his duties until the end of his tenure.
